How can we help you as new mothers?

Being a new mum is a major life change, your hormones are all over the place, your tired and you suddenly have this little human being to look after! But for some of you, weight gain and stress related issues from pregnancy may be something you want to tackle so you can feel confident and fit again. Lets look at this first:

Weight Loss

Using the relaxing and natural techniques of hypnotherapy, we are able to provide a weight loss programme bespoke to you. Its time to stop depriving yourself of food that you enjoy, we all know that doesn’t work long term and old habits begin to resurface again. We will help you feel more in control with the foods you crave, for example, sugar addiction is one of the most common causes of weight gain that we now deal with.

Post Natal Depression

Belinda Phipps, chief executive of the NCT, told the BBC: “The six-week postnatal check-up is a key opportunity to spot potential problems for new mums, such as postnatal depression, as well as other physical and psychological disorders. It is worrying that almost a third of women were not even asked about how they felt. Identification early on is crucial.”

Hypnosis is increasingly being used now to help reduce post natal depression by practising Hypnobirthing/ Hypnotherapy for childbirth, but what if you haven’t completed a course and you begin to feel low after birth?

Unfortunately the 6 week check ups are sometimes too rushed to pick up PND so it is important that you seek help if you begin to show signs. Symptoms include sadness, fatigue, crying episodes, reduced libido, insomnia, irritability and anxiety. The cause isn’t clear but is said to be the chemical imbalance of hormones in a woman’s body and lack of vitamins can bring on PND.

So how can we help you?

In-conjunction with being treated with anti-depressants or counselling, hypnotherapy can significantly help you further. The medication will help you to a degree, but it is important for you that you still feel in control of your thoughts and feelings. It’s time for you to take an hour from your week and speak to someone who has a trained ear, but also has the experience to use hypnosis as a positive form of treatment.
